{"id":413,"date":"2022-06-01T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-01T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nushub.org.ua\/lt\/?post_type=news&#038;p=140"},"modified":"2022-06-16T01:54:20","modified_gmt":"2022-06-15T22:54:20","slug":"new-ukrainian-school-hub-started","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/nushub.org.ua\/lt\/en\/news\/new-ukrainian-school-hub-started\/","title":{"rendered":"A Central, European-wide Edtech Hub Supporting All Ukrainian Teachers and Learners Launches Today"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The New Ukrainian School Hub (<a href=\"http:\/\/nushub.org\/\">nushub.org<\/a>) a free hub collating educational resources, and knowledge to support Ukrainian refugees, no matter where they are, has launched on Children\u2019s day as announced by the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coordinated by the Institute of Education Content Modernization of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, European Edtech Alliance e.V. (EEA) and \u00abLearning Together\u00bb Project, \u00a0the hub provides access to supplemental ed-tech solutions and to Ukrainian online learning platforms. Additionally, the hub provides direct access to relevant country specific or local education access information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal for the hub is to ensure that learners, families, educators, and local supporters have the ability to quickly find tools that work for them regardless of where their journey over the coming weeks and months takes them. Importantly, this also supports the integration of Ukrainian resources and Ukrainian learners and teachers within local or regional ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abEdTech is a key driver in our education ecosystem and plays a vital role in supporting flexible learning situations for displaced people\u00bb states Beth Havinga, Managing Director of the European Edtech Alliance e.V. \u00abWith multiple platforms providing important information to refugees regarding their learning and teaching, it is essential to make this information and these resources easily accessible\u00bb.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initiative is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland and the European Commission. Focussing on resources for school administrators, educators, learners and those supporting learners such as their families, host families or communities, it builds on both the existing collection of over 200 supportive EdTech offerings from over 20 member states collated by the European Edtech Alliance e.V. (EEA) and the of the \u00abLearning Together\u00bb Project which provides resources for the hub, as well as supports its development. The project is also supported by the University of Helsinki, Finnish Consulting Group Ltd, and cooperating with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine (MDT) and UNICEF. The initiative is aligned with the objectives of the Digital Education Action Plan of the European Commission, contributing to the development of a high-performing digital education ecosystem in Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00abWhilst numerous resources exist to support learners and educators as they navigate this challenging situation, it is often difficult to find them,\u00bb explains Dr. Jarkko Lampiselk\u00e4, Chief Technical Advisor of the \u00abLearning Together\u00bb Project. \u00abMillions of Ukrainian learners and teachers need to connect into local education opportunities or continue their studies without disruption as they continue to move within EU member states\u00bb.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hub will contain a catalog of resources that will help NUS primary and basic school teachers and support their activities. In the catalog you will be able to find:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>regulatory documents (in particular, the laws \u00abOn Education\u00bb and \u00abOn General Secondary Education\u00bb, NUS concept; State Standard for Basic Secondary Education, Framework Curriculum for Grades 5-9, guidelines);<\/li><li>information about teaching and learning materials (guidelines for developing a curriculum and model study programs; manuals\/materials for pilots);<\/li><li>materials for supporting and training teachers (recordings and presentations of webinars, announcements of events, courses);<\/li><li>feedback tools (questionnaires, chat, research results).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the site will publish information about activities planned for NUS teachers \u2013 announcements of webinars and courses, a schedule of activities organized by publishers and authors&#8217; groups, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Hub Partners:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning Together project:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Finland\u2019s Support to the Ukrainian School Reform (\u00abLearning Together\u00bb) is a four-year collaborative project that started between Ukraine and Finland in July 2018, and was joined by the European Commission in late 2018. The project is funded by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (6 million euros) and the EU (2 million euros). The expected long-term impact of the \u00abLearning Together\u00bb project is to enhance the quality of education in Ukraine as well as the perceptions the Ukrainian citizens have of their education system. MFA has a contract with FCG Finnish Consulting Group Ltd as the main implementing agency in cooperation with the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Helsinki, and the University of Helsinki Centre for Continuing Education HY+. The Project cooperates with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine (MDT) and UNICEF on the matters of the digitalization of education.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The European Edtech Alliance:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Edtech Alliance e.V. (EEA) is a non-for-profit consortium of national trade associations and clusters working with 2460 founders and providers of education technology (Edtech), to support the domestic and international growth of Edtech and Innovation in education. The Alliance has two main areas of focus: policy work and support for Edtech start-ups and scales-ups. Through these two channels, the EEA develops important insights, resources, and tools, which can be used to support sustainable development within the education ecosystem.
