Curriculum Constructor has been presented to NUS coordinators

Developed by the Learning Together project in cooperation with the Ukrainian Institute for Education Development and the Reform Support Team of the Ministry of Education and Science, the tool «Curriculum Constructor» was presented to New Ukrainian School coordinators of regional in-service teacher training institutions. The presentation webinar was held on 23 June. 

During the event, teachers were explained in detail the key elements of using the Constructor when building the education plan as part of the institution’s curriculum. 

The webinar participants also learned about:

• specifics of registering for the service;
• resource capacities for creating a working education plan;
• use of the tool for in-service training of teachers who are supposed to start teaching this year based on the State Standard of NUS in grades 5 and continue to pilot the Standard in grades 6.

Besides, deputy principals of pilot schools who already use it in their work shared their experience of working with the Constructor. They talked about the key advantages of the tool and possible scenarios for its use. 

Curriculum Constructor is a new efficient online assistant for school principals and their deputies. It will help say goodbye to piles of papers, lost files, and many other challenges that teachers face every time they draw up an education plan.

The tool was developed by the Learning Together project with the support of the MoES, the Ukrainian Institute for Education Development and the Reform Support Team of the MoES specifically so that the education plan finally ceases to be a headache for the leader, but becomes a source of inspiration for the entire school team.

In particular, the Constructor:

• offers a ready-made solution for the scope of the academic load;
• helps make sure that the distribution of hours in the education plan meets the requirements;
• provides access to an exhaustive list of model study programs recommended by the MoES;
• enables the creation of as many variations of work plans as necessary;
• makes it possible to share documents with other team members.

The access to the Constructor is given to principals of educational institutions and their teams as well as to NUS coordinators of in-service teacher training institutions. The Constructor has been tested in pilot educational institutions and received positive feedback.
