According to the Guidelines, continuation of the general secondary education reform “New Ukrainian School” and implementation of a new State Standard for Basic Secondary Education in grade 5 are among the priorities of the 2022/23 academic year.
In the 2022/23 academic year, the new State Standard will begin to be gradually implemented and 5th-graders will transit respectively to a new model of education.
The Instructional Guidelines describe how the school curriculum is developed based on the Framework Curriculum, offer the structure of the curriculum and an algorithm for developing an education plan. The Guidelines also contain information on how to detail model study programs in study programs for subjects/integrated courses at the educational institution level and on the specifics of creating calendar and thematic planning for these subjects and courses.
Besides, the document draws attention to the necessity of diagnostics at the beginning of the school year, which would help identify the level of achievement by students of mandatory learning outcomes defined in the State Standard for Primary Education for 4th-graders.
