This year, the National Global Teacher Prize Ukraine 2022 Award has celebrated educational front heroes – educators whose stories epitomize Ukrainian wartime teaching. The expert of Cluster 3 of the Learning Together project Iurii Gaiduchenko is among such educators.
Since 2017, the Global Teacher Prize Ukraine has been given to the best teachers in the country. This year, instead of announcing the finalists and winners, the NGO «Osvitoria» – the organizer of the contest, celebrates dauntless educators who keep teaching in hard conditions, acting as innovators despite the war. Besides, they protect and rescue Ukrainian children from shelling and rocket attacks.
In particular, this year during the ceremony, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal drew attention to volunteer teachers and personally awarded two of them – the teacher of Ukrainian Language and Literature, the expert of our project Iurii Gaiduchenko and the Computer Science teacher Liudmyla Bulyhina.
Together, they have launched the project «Teacher Joins the Armed Forces of Ukraine», which is designed to help colleagues who have changed the educational front for the military one. Yuri and Liudmyla have initiated a community that unites hundreds of educators nowadays ready to help their fellow teachers at the front.
We congratulate Iurii with the award and thank him for the contribution to the victory of Ukraine!
