On 25 May, during the webinar the activity booklet “The KIP Crew Manages their Worries” was presented. The booklet was translated into Ukrainian thanks to the support of the program “EU4Skills: Best Skills for Modern Ukraine” and the Learning Together project.

Because of the war in Ukraine, children go through severe stress, anxiety and traumatic experiences. The booklet is designed to help teachers, parents/guardians, and therapists support children in expressing their feelings without adding to their anxiety. It will also help restore children’s sense of security in times of anxiety and uncertainty.

The activity booklet ‘The KIP Crew Manages their Worries’ is designed for 4-9-year-old children. Children can work on it by themselves or with an adult. The story and the activities give an opportunity for children to think about and express their own feelings. At the same time, the adult will support the child in times of traumatic experiences and stress and can help with recognizing feelings caused by worry or fright.

During the online presentation educators, parents and representatives of NGOs got an insight into booklet tools and the theory they are based on, heard advice from its developers, and learned  how to use it in practice.

The booklet has been developed by experts in developmental psychology, pedagogy and traumatology of the educational company FunAcademy and Protect Children NGO from Finland. It has been translated into Ukrainian thanks to the support of the EU and its member states: Germany, Finland, Poland and Estonia program “EU4Skills: Best Skills for Modern Ukraine” and the Finland’s Support to the Ukrainian School Reform Project – “Learning Together”.

In addition to Ukrainian, the booklet is available in 14 other languages, including Polish, English, and German. This will help children who continue their studies in other countries to use it and feel more comfortable in a new group or class.
